My introduction to MMOs was WoW, where I learned that I like PvE and cooperatively kicking the AI's backend. Later in WoW battlegrounds, I learned that I get absolutely tingly about PvP. There are only so many MOBs you can kill before you need a challenge, an opponent who doesn't respond exactly the same way every time in each engagement. The open-world PvP of Rift looks promising and I look forward to group skirmishes and battles between guilds, not to mention the occasional one-on-one encounter (girls, you know what I mean).
Because my husband tends to play females a lot, I will probably end up playing a lot of male characters in Rift, mostly to avoid getting stalked by weirdos who think that we are—I wish I were not quoting here—"hot, nympho lesbos" who might really dig the idea of letting a guy named _killer_DAWG_dude_ join in sometime. A few things about gaming truly creep me out.
