This is a timeline of events concerning Telara, from its creation to the present.
[edit] Age of Legend
- Millenia ago[1]: The Vigil created Telara from a mass of sourcestone.[2]
- Tavril creates the Elves.[2]
- Bahralt the crafter God creates the Dwarves from the spirits that assisted his creation.[3]
[edit] Arrival of the Humans
- Humans are created by all the gods of the Vigil and appear in Tavra.[4]
- Humans develop civilization with the help of the Elves.[4]
- The humans splinter: the Eth venture south, and the Mathosians venture north and found the Mathosian Empire.[4]
[edit] Age of Dragons / Blood Storm War (1500 years before game starting events)
- The Blood Storm arrive at Telara in dragon form, causing extensive damage.[2]
- Crucia of the Blood Storm inflicts damage on the Elves, destroying most of the High Elven Heart Grove.[1]
- The lesser gods of the Blood Storm turn against Regulos.[2] (999 years before game starting events)
- The people of Telara ally against the Blood Storm, catching them off guard.[2]
- The Shalastiri enter Telara from the Plane of Air and aid the Telarans.[5] (950 years before game starting events)
- The Eth are the first to befriend the Shalastiri.[5]
- The Eth discover a means to harness sourcestone as a fuel for their war machines.[6]
- The Blood Storm gods are imprisoned in the planes.[2]
- A faction of elves - the Kelari - turn from Tavril.[7]
- The Vigil help construct the ward to shield Telara from the planes.[2] (505 years before game starting events)
[edit] Formation of the Bahmi and the Ethian Empire
- The Shalastiri settle in the Rhaza'de Canyons and breed with humans, forming a new race, the Bahmi.[5]
- The Eth apply sourcestone technology to their daily lives.[6]
- The Dragonslayer Covenant is formed primarily from Eth and Bahmi, to keep watch over the dragon cults.[8]
- The Vigil demand that the Eth abandon sourcestone technology.[6] (450 years before game starting events)
- The Eth refuse, and found the powerful Ethian empire.[6]
- Sourcestone technology fall into the hands of the dragon cultists.[6] (440 years before game starting events)
- The Eth Empire collapses. (500 Years Before Launch)[6]
[edit] Mathosian Civil War / Shade War (25 Years Before Launch)
- The Mathosian King Jostir the ancient dies mysteriously.[4]
- Civil war between Jostir's sons Aedraxis and Zareph ravages the northern half of Telara.[4]
- The Dragonslayer Covenant uncovers evidence that Aedraxis is dealing with the Endless Court.[8]
- Orphiel Fairwind, leader of the Dragonslayer Covenant, sends Asha Catari to warn Zareph.[8]
- Aedraxis resorts to magic that fractures the ward and pulls the Plane of Death over Telara.(20 Years Before Launch[4]
- Most of the Mathosians homeland is destroyed in the Shade.[4]
- Aedraxis turns into an undead and is crowned king as the elder son.[4]
- The Dragonslayer Covenant lose most of their number defending Telara from the Plane of Death.[8]
- Asha Catari dies fighting alongside Zareph.[8]
- Aedraxis and his followers flee north.[4]
- Zareph and his followers flee the shade and found Port Scion.[4] (60 years prior to game starting events)
- The remnants of the Dragonslayer Covenant join the Mathosians at Port Scion.[8]
- The Bahmi arrive at Port Scion and raise the city's walls.[5]
[edit] Roots of the Defiant-Guardian schism
- Orphiel begins investigating the remnants of Eth technology.[8]
- Orphiel's philosophy that Eth technology should rise again gains a following.[8]
- The first Ascendants return, Orphiel's following dwindles.[8]
- Orphiel and his remaining followers leave Port Scion.[8]
- Orphiel finds ancient Eth sourcestone machines in the Shadowlands and powers them back up.(1 Year Before Launch)[8]
- Asha Catari is the first Defiant ascendant brought back by the sourcestone machines.[8]
[edit] Fall of Port Scion and aftermath (30 years prior to game starting events)
- Zareph was lost.[8]
- The Guardians establish themselves in Sanctum[9] and demand that the sourcestone machines not be used.[8]
- Orphiel and his followers refuse to comply, and establish themselves in Meridian in Freemarch.[8]
