Subclass
From Telarapedia
This section is most likely not correct, so please treat it as historical information from when RIft was known as Heroes of Telara.[1]
A subclass gives a character a secondary ability or set of abilities[2] in addition to that of their primary class. A subclass is learned or acquired via a 'subclass card' which can be found on defeated enemies, purchased at a merchant, as a quest reward, and or accomplishments.[3][4][5]
In one case (demoed at E3 2009), a warrior received a Grave Lord subclass and summoned 'zombie minions' to send into battle.[6][4]
- Subclasses can be switched in any location, so you you will not to go to a town and change your subclass as is the case for main/core classes.
- All have a core class requirement and cannot be used on more than one core class.[7]
- There will be both combat and non-combat subclasses[8], which could imply something like a court jester.[9]
- It is possible that not all subclasses will be in the game at release.[10]
[edit] Subclass List
Current known subclasses (these are possibly only examples, especially in the case of the paladin):
