If you would like to suggest changes to content and tables on the front page (which is protected to protect it from vandalism), please edit Mainpage/Editcopy. Once you have done this, start a discussion in this forum or the Editcopy's talk page and your changes will be debated.

TBH i like the layout of this site compared to most, its short simple and easy to read/navigate.

one suggestionn i have, would be to allow uploaded signatures, maybe 400 by 100 or somthing like that, at the end of a post. also maybe im just not seeing it but theres no way to edit my "default avatar pic"

Thanks for posting! Yeah, the forum software in this is fairly rudimentary. I can see about forum signatures and stuff, although you can indeed add an avatar? Try this link out http://telarapedia.com/wiki/Special:AWCforum/member_options/editava

The forum software on the wiki is rather specialised and uses a lot of wiki syntax, and I've honestly not found much that is better for this use, yet, unfortunately.

Thanks for the comments. I'll keep my eye out for options that allow better signatures, but you can have them here. Just don't use URL bbcode (use wiki code for that), but other bbcode does seem to work. There is also something weird about post sizes on new posts in the forums (main wiki preferences and uncheck beta editor fixes it), but at least wiki forums aren't used too much I suppose.

Any suggestions for improving the rest of the site outside of the forums, please let us know.

Just a note
I'm using firefox and on my screen all the pages on the site...the main info table shows up below the nav bar with just a little overlapping instead of beside it. So I see a nav bar with a big empty block of space to the right of it till I scroll way down.

That's odd, it looks fine on Firefox, Chrome, IE6-9, Android, and the iPhone for me. Can you provide a screenshot and some additional information?

Thanks so much for helping out! Your input and the input from Bumble helped catch a problem that was messing with the wiki for a few people. As a result of this I've been working overtime to create a new skin (from scratch!).

This may just be me, but I don't like having the bars of empty space on the sides of my screen. Maybe a user option to change that?

Well, you can always change to Vector for now if you don't care how things look. That's the best short-term option. I can also offer a 'darkwiki-wide' skin if something like that is what you're after.

What do you mean by that? A link off of the front page to those items? It's definitely information that the wiki needs today as I can't see anyone having started adding artifacts yet...

Interesting that there hasn't been any discussion for over a year on this..

I don't really know enough about wiki programming to generate a test page, but I think that the main page could use a little boosting in terms of what it is. If you are a RIFT player looking for specific information its a great page, if you are looking to know what RIFT is, you will have a tough time.

I was thinking it might be worthwhile having 3 sections. The top is a short "What is RIFT" and why is this resource the best (just calling it a wiki does it for some but not all visitors) - it doesn't have to be a fullblown sales pitch but I think something could be generated to show some of the games excitement and then end the section with a link to the official Trion page(s). The middle is a "Whats new in RIFT" that shows the current storyline (the "patches" link way down at the bottom is hard to find). And the 3rd section for experienced players just looking for their link to a specific page.

Also, perhaps instead of a "exclusive" screenshots section (which I don't think changes) perhaps a screenshot-of-the-week or scrolling submitted-screenshots kind of thing.. generate a little new content..perhaps a "latest changed page" scroller to show that things are being updated.

What do you think?

another idea - category addition
haha...forgot something, I suspect some/many people arriving at the main page are newbies and looking for guides. but I don't see any easy way for them to find a guide. There is a "character creation" link which takes you to that specific guide but no link to the "Category:User_Guides" section.

Perhaps a easier-to-find category such as "new players" or something. As a special note, I think we need more guides! and ones for mid-level players starting to try and make some decisions..for example, now that I am into the level 30's and starting to think of being a better player, I have no clue what stat I should be maximizing as a rogue.

Just an idea.. I will write them if desired, but I don't know what the answers should be.
