Currently, Telarapedia is only available in English. However, we are more than willing to setup and host other languages if anyone is willing to work on those language versions of the site. Should you be interested in working on a non-English version of the wiki, please post a thread in this forum with a bit of information about yourself and stating your interest. Any non-English version will be setup as xx.telarapedia.com; for example, a French version of Telarapedia would be fr.telarapedia.com.

At this time, Français (French) and Deutsch (German) versions would be biggest benefit to the Rift: Planes of Telara community, as visits by Trion to Germany and the existence of a French CM seem to point towards those languages being officially in the game. However, no language will be turned away if there is sufficient interest and commitment to work on it.

As of 26 September 2009, I've added the Language template, the implications of which can be seen here: Telarapedia:Policy/Languages. This is a reasonable solution until a later date at which we may be do multiple subdomains.

A wiki is only as good as its contributors - won't you help out?
The original Rift Wiki - EN DE FR
Have you added your guild yet?

We have a German site now, although just one brave soul seems to be doing all the work! Please help him out by visiting http://de.telarapedia.com.

Hi

I am 32,I began MMO with World of Warcraft during 1.5 year, played a bit Vanguard,Everquest 2,beta tested DnL (lol :/) played AoC, played Aion at release on a Korean server.

I created a french guild during the AoC closed beta.
After a few month, with the lack of content, Guildies and I, deciced to disband our guild.

I revive that family-friendly guild named "Ludere" (www.ludere.fr)in order to enjoin with the PvE in Rift. I knwow following a game development can be long, and i have some time, so i could give Telarapedia some help with its french version, i hope others frenchies will join the wiki because the work is huge , but i'm not afraid.

I don't know anything about wiki, but i think being a geek can be helpful ^^ .

I hope i don't massacre to much the english language :/
It's more comfortable for me translating english to french than the opposite!

Thanks for reading

Is there any (easy) way to see what articles are actually not translated? It would speed up work instead of open both wikis and compare all

Hi, Fataz! Nice to make see you here and thank you for the post!

Well, it might be worth posting a thread on the French official game forums? It's a lot of work to maintain and translate a wiki...the German one has taken 2-3 people quite some time and they're still not done I don't think. But I don't mind setting up fr.telarapedia.com if there is sufficient interest. So perhaps ask if anyone else would be interested on the official forums and let me know?

Hi, Masupilami!

Sometimes there is, if someone flags an article on the german site. See here: http://de.telarapedia.com/wiki/Kategorie:Artikel_ben%C3%B6tigt_%C3%9Cbersetzung

However, for the most part, you'll have to look around the German site and see what is missing. I do think the Lore category on the German site is fairly lacking, so that might be a good place to start.

Awesome, Fataz.

It is just honestly quite a bit of work for me to setup the subdomain and get the basics going, so I need to make sure there is some general interest. At first a ton of translating will have to happen for templates (see Category:Templates to get an idea, since those are what make the sites look the way they do.

Do you have a link to the french forum thread?

Hi everyone,

I think I'm supposed to introduce myself.

Well I'm almost 23 and started my mmo gaming career playing Ultima Online.
Stopped it to EverQuest when released. That was the end of my casual timeplay, and the begining of the hardcore one. Never regret it, it was great times. And EQ diserve it, community diserve it.
Played EQ for 4 years with some few others in the mean time. DAoC, AC, L1, T4C.

And then comes the time to stop playing EQ. After that, I didn't find any other mmogs which can keep me playing for years. Some was good, really good, like Neocron, SWG (pre-NGE), Anarchy Online. But something was still missing.

EverQuest 2 came to save my gaming career. Or, the guild named Pandemonium saved my gaming career. If it wasn't for them (And we're still playing with each other now), I should have stop this game after only 5 months. Since then, it's only crap games and crap games again. Can't find a new home, and maybe Rift will be.

Aww, I talk too much.
Anyway, that's me. And yeah, i'm a volunteer to help you making a French version of Telarapedia.
If you're agree ofc.

Hey, Zull - welcome!

There seems to be some interest in a French wiki, so I'll start working on the back-end stuff. This means it will be available for you all to start editing up within the next week. However, we don't want to really advertise it too much until there are quite a few basic pages in French. My recommendation would be to start translating pages offline so you can put French versions up as soon as I get the wiki up for you.

Today I'll tweet about French volunteers. Could someone post a sentence here in French please? I would like to say this:
Telarapedia is looking for volunteers to work on a French version of the wiki. And then I'll link this thread and tell Trion, too.

Also, I can setup foreign language forums, but that is a real pain in the wiki software as it's a nightmare to maintain. However, I can setup some foreign language subforums within this forum if people want, but people would have to register on the English site as well unfortunately.

Glad to see some interest!

Just let me know if you ever need any help! Wiki stuff can be a bit daunting at first, but it's not so bad eventually. I'd never used a wiki before Telarapedia!

Telarapedia is looking for volunteers to work on a French version of the wiki.

Telarapedia est la recherche de bénévoles pour travailler sur une version française du wiki

Good idea, we'll begin with an offline translation
Don't take pains with foreign language forums
I was right, Sparck is volunteer

I agree with Fataz.
And I think either German and French ppl can make a topic for them if they need it (instructions, what's done, whatever...).

Hy Ciovala and all, ( Fataz, Zull )

I'm here by the way of a post, made by Fataz, in french official forum.
I'm volunteer to help, as best I'd could, to translate the Telarapedia wiki in French.

About me, Huuum I'm Sparck^^ i'm 35 years old And I play MMo's nearly 8 years, which are, more or less, the same as Fataz and Zull + WarHammer and Except WoW (Brrrrrr )

So When you have ending the back-end stuff, we start to translate pages, offline off course (it's safer) and "in" joy, good humor and serious.

Regards,
