What is everyone's general view of this software?
One option I have (well, if I take down RIft Nexus anyway), is to use a module like this one to link the wiki user database with Invision Power Board.
One problem will probably be that it would load a whole new page and not sort of 'fit' into the wiki as neatly as this one, but perhaps I can edit the skin enough so that it's not too bad for people. Also, wikitext won't work in forum posts...
If something like this was done, then people would need to be good and use talk pages for discussing wiki-related topics on specific pages I think.

I say that this is fine, for a wiki's purposes. A wiki lends itself way more to specific discussions on talk pages than a forum (except for planning purposes and policies and the like).
If you moved to an actual external board software, I think it would separate too much from the wiki and have yet another "forum" for people to want to be active with.
But that's just my two copper for the moment.

| I ain't a huge fan of this forum either, but it servers it's purpose. We can talk about anything we would need here. If there is something very specific then we can always use the "Talk:" section of an article. I say keep it like this for now. It does what it should, nothing more and nothing less.

Just to weigh in, I'm fine with this forum software, but that's more because I've always cared more about the content in forums rather than the flashy-ness or special features. And anyway the main purpose of this website is the wiki itself.
