PvP Soul
To complement the many diverse Souls in RIFT, every Calling has access to a special PvP Soul. Each such Soul boasts a suite of skills and abilities specially tailored to enhance the natural PvP advantages of its Calling.
PvP Souls work much like all Souls in RIFT. Include a PvP Soul as part of a build and divide points between the three Souls as normal. The other two Souls determine your play-style, much like in a PvE build, while the PvP Soul has all the goodies you need to help your character dominate those chumps across the battlefield.
PvP Souls are available to any player with a certain amount of Favor, while Prestige Rank determines how many points you can invest in a PvP Soul tree. The more you engage in PvP combat, the more you can hone your character into the perfect engine of victory.[1]

[edit] Background
The eldritch workshops of the Defiant have produced a new cadre of Souls. Though the Souls of the ancient heroes gave the Defiant Ascended a wide range of skills and abilities with which to fight the forces of the planes, the war against the Guardians posed particular challenges that required innovative solutions. To meet this need, a new set of Souls was produced through the sparks of a great machine.
Meanwhile, the gods of the Vigil divined the needs of their chosen, and delivered to them the Souls of four great celestial beings to don in their battles against the heretics. These celestial beings once served the Vigil in planar wars, and now assist the Guardians in their battle against the Defiant.[2]
[edit] Soul Advancement
PvP souls cost 2500
to purchase. The 0-point skill lets one remove all stuns and snares. Each soul is broken into tiers. One can spend points right away in the first tier. After that, each additional tier requires another rank of Prestige. Prestige can only be gained after reaching level 50. Each PvP Soul has 21 point cap, so you still have 45 points available for your PvE tree. Each soul is broken down into 4 linear paths. If one wishes to reach higher tier skills, one must follow one of these paths. Unlike PvE souls, PvP souls gain only 4 activated abilities from the root of the trees. [3]
