03:13 PAXZen It was a long and painful day. Running, interviews and such. Only got to play enough to get to level 7 on rift, as an Assassin, and 4 as a Champion.
03:14 PAXZen Of course, I did burn 5-10 minutes just letting a rift do its thing.

03:17 Xanax how was the aggro radius at the low level vs the rift mobs?
03:18 PAXZen Xanax: Not much new stuff. They only had the Elementalist, Assassin, Ranger, and Champion callings on preview, and Abi tried to get me in on the instance run, but I had an interview with Warren Spector.

03:18 PAXZen Things I noticed: Rifts appear on the map. Mobs are definitely tethered.

03:28 PAXZen Seemed about right. My only issue is the announcements, like "Rift Closed" or "Leveled up"

03:31 PAXZen Rift opens, wait a bit, mobs spawn in waves that get larger in enemy type.
03:31 PAXZen After the third wave, the rift closes.
03:31 Xanax How is the time between waves? pretty slow or you need to be organized n quick?

03:32 PAXZen It seemed that you had to finish a wave before the next one came.
03:33 PAXZen I'll try starting a wave tomorrow and then letting it run wild.
03:33 Xanax I hope their is like a proximity around the rift that it uses to decide if mobns are dead or alive before spawning the next rift
03:33 Xanax would hate to kill aall mobs but 1 and have it lone wandering trying to get the next stage to come lol
03:33 Braen did you see anything become planetouched like they have mentioned before?
03:34 PAXZen Well with the leash, I doubt the rift spawns will get far from the rift. (I'll check that tomorrow too)

03:40 PAXZen Rotation wise, the Assassin was: Strike four or five times, and then Finishing Blow (like a Wow Rogue)

03:41 PAXZen The Champion was: Bleed Move, Strike three times, Combo Move, repeat.
03:41 PAXZen TThe charge move can only be used out of combat.

04:24 PAXZen First I played the Assassin, who is mostly like the WoW Rogue in that his finishing blows are powered by combo points that stack on the target.

04:24 PAXZen He had a few other attacks, like a Backstab and stealth move, but I can't say I enjoy the playstyle myself.

04:25 PAXZen The Champion was much more fun for me, with a OoC charge move, a basic strike, a bleed, and a finishing blow.
04:26 PAXZen Unfortunately, as I said earlier, the charge move was only usable if you weren't in combat.
04:26 Mira so it's an opening move only?
04:26 PAXZen The Champion just felt more dynamic and powerful (for me, YMMV)

04:26 Sinvrall The merc in DAOC had a skill called dirty tricks where you'd throw dirt in your opponents eyes as a stun. Games need more dirty tricks

04:27 PAXZen Rifts spawned randomly, but they also seemed to have a stable Rift respawning for the demo area.
04:28 Mira did they have more than one in an area?
04:28 PAXZen Rift either breaks open, or there's an item you can use to tear it open (demo only maybe)
