[edit] Overview
Moonshadows is a Defiant-based guild focused on the salvation of Telara from the forces of Regulos by any means necessary: even working to reforge ties with those Guardians who also seek the defense of our world above all other concerns.

Goals
I. Mission Statement
RP-based Goals
To defend Telara from the Rift invasions and the destructive forces of Regulos and work to rebuild the trust that once existed between the Defiant and Guardian factions, which Alsbeth destroyed with her treachery.
To do this by and through:
- Not killing Guardians on sight unless they are a PvE objective
- Alliances with individual Guardians and/or Guardian-aligned organizations.
- Mastery of information. – Spies and Researchers.
Game content-based Goals
- To explore game content as a guild and work towards raids etc, but understanding that this is mostly secondary to RP.
- To include as much of the guild as possible in private and public events with the purposes of fostering an understanding and friendly guild community.
- To not become co-dependent on other guilds, but to foster as many friendly relationships as possible, for the following reasons:
- Certain classes do not gel well with the MS theme without significant character back story and justification, so we may need the help of other guilds to make up for this.
- To always keep up good relations and thus maximize role play potential.
- To be proactive.
- To avoid unnecessary drama. Period.
News
We are in the process of adding forums for the Telara incarnation of Moonshadows on our main guild site. Please bear with us and feel free to make use of the information already available. Not much is different between the Norrath and Telara versions of the guild in terms of rules.
[edit] OOC Guild Rules
For the most part, we are a pretty relaxed bunch. That being said, we do have a few rules that we expect everyone to abide by - from the lowliest new recruit to the most senior guild leader (if there is such a thing). Most of these can be summed up as "Don't be an asshole, just have one" - but if we don't write them down, we can't enforce them.
If you have any questions about any of these rules, or you think we could re-write something to be a little clearer, or we missed an important one, please feel free to contact us.
Now for the fine print:
- 1) Follow the EULA - You read it and agree to it when you log in. Every time you log in, as a matter of fact. Do what you said you were going to do. We have no tolerance for blatant EULA violators, as it reflects poorly on our guild. If you're going to be a shit, do it in someone else's guild. We don't need the headache or the ding to our reputation.
- 2) Refrain from OOC disputes - There are jerks out there. You have the right to have nothing to do with them. Use the following to handle these situations:
- Screenshot anything that would constitute as harassment to you. Submit to the Officership and to Trion. If the other party is in Moonshadows, they're in deep shit. If they are a member of another guild, one of the guild leaders will be having a word of prayer with the individual's guild leader. If they are a member of no guild at all, we will keep them that way.
- /ignore is your friend. If someone's being childish and rude, /ignore them. This also works to keep snowballs from affecting your character - from your view at least.
- 3) Be mature - Seriously. We have implemented an age restriction on the guild applications for a reason. We accept only mature (read: legally adult and reasonably responsible) role players who realize there are certain scenarios in RP that will occur, especially in a setting such as Moonshadows. Such scenarios include the following: rape, kidnapping, torture, murder, illicit activities, interaction with whores, alcohol, and drugs (though not always at the same time). This is not an exhaustive list.
- If you are easily offended, then this may not be the guild you are looking for. If you see something happen that offends you, please don't come to us and complain about it. As of reading this, you have been informed that we will do our best to offend everyone equally and by doing so, offend nobody.
- Feel free to inform the guild via the members section what you are comfortable with and what you aren't. That way, we can all make sure everyone has fun when they RP rather than encountering something that might make them a little squeamish.
- Don't be That Guy. We all know That Guy and we don't like him, hence joining a guild where That Guy is not welcome. That Guy is the one who seems to deliberately seek out new and inventive ways to be spectacularly annoying every single day. Yeah. Him. We don't want reports from other people about you.
HOWEVER
If a character is roleplaying something openly that is deemed ooc'ly disturbing or offensive to the balance of the guild, the player will be asked to take it to tells, group or otherwise out of public channels. The only exception will be if it is something deemed grossly improper. The guild leadership are not the Supreme Court, so be advised that if we tell you it's inappropriate, there is no appeal. Stop doing it or pay the price.
Flagrant disregard of the fact you have Crossed The Line will get you kicked. No appeals.
FURTHERMORE
We do not and will not tolerate abusive OOC behavior, whether it be directed at a guildmate or another individual in the Faeblight RP community. Ever. I (Euryale), at least, will take all incidences of such behavior to Trion, along with any submitted evidence - it not only violates our guild's bylaws, it is a violation of the EULA. See Rule #1 if you have forgotten how we feel about the EULA.
We are also not fans of RP nazis or drama llamas. We are here to have fun, not pander to one particular person nor to tell you how to play your toon. Don't tell us how to play our toons and don't make everything a crisis. Eventually, we'll stop caring. We've got better things to do -like save Telara- and anyway, you're an Ascended. Getting in over your head is your job description, if you can't thrive with the gifts technology (or the gods) have given you, you obviously must be culled.
- 4) Absences from the game - We do worry about people in the guild. If you are going to take a break from the game, just post and let us know with a rough time-frame on when you will be back, if you can give us one. We can note it on your character and then people won't worry as much if they haven't seen you online. If you have an unexpected absence, like something happening in RL, just try to let us know as soon as possible and take whatever time you need to sort things out. We don't want people to feel pressured to come back and play, but at the same time we do worry if people disappear without a reason for long periods of time.
Members who do not notify us of extended absences will be removed from the roster after 90 days.
You have been informed.
- 5) Seperation of IC and OOC - Just because someone is either nasty or a bit stand-offish in-character does not necessarily mean they are like this out of character. When you are playing your character, please make sure you keep the two separate.
Do not let your own personal feelings dictate how you role-play your character towards someone. You may find Euryale's casual discussion of cooking other sentient creatures appalling, but your character might be fascinated. Know the difference.
The only time it would be permissible for someone to allow their OOC feelings to judge how their character would act is if they are dealing with someone whom has been announced to the server community as a problem, though we will try to keep you updated on such people.
Just use this simple rubric when trying to keep OOC and IC separate:
Euryale is a hardnosed bitch who hates everyone. poEuryale is a hardnosed bitch who hates every - wait...that's not a good example, is it?
Seriously, though, just because Eury comes down like a ton of bricks on someone doesn't mean that poEury is taking out a personal grudge. I'm bound by the rules same as everyone else. I just have the unfortunate task of enforcing them where others are concerned as well as following them.
- 6) No quitting - I don't get to quit, so nobody else does either. A'right? That means no giving up on one another or on ourselves. Not now, not ever.
Clear enough?
