Who are Freethinkers?
A Freethinker holds that opinions should be formed on the basis of science, logic, and reason, and should not be influenced by authority, tradition, or dogma. A Freethinker is the very definition of what it means to be Defiant.
Raiding
Raiding is currently planned to occur 3 nights per week on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8-11pm Eastern (GMT -5). Raid progression is the primary goal of this guild and as such members are expected to work towards the betterment of both their individual characters as well as the raid force as a whole.
DKP and Loot Distribution
- DKP will be earned by attending raids and other special guild events. DKP will be used to bid on items. Veterans who wish to bid on an item will send tells with the DKP amount that they are bidding to the loot officer handling the bidding on that particular item.
- The minimum bid is 1 DKP. There is no maximum bid, but Veterans are not permitted to bid more than their current maximum amount of DKP. The person with the highest bid will receive the item and will be charged an amount of DKP that is equal to the second highest bidders bid plus an additional 1 DKP.
- If multiple players tie for the highest bid than the players in question will be asked to submit new bids that are higher than their original bid. Otherwise players may pass on the item.
- When bidding for an item, you will be bidding for a character. Characters in the High Executor, Executor, Veteran, Wanderer, Pariah, and Recruit rank all have equal bidding rights.
- Characters in the Citizen rank can only bid on items if no characters of other ranks have bid on the item in question.
PvP
Guild members are encouraged to engage in both open world PvP as well as Warfronts whenever possible.

- High Executor: The High Executor is the guilds leader. Decisions regarding the running of the guild will be determined by majority vote from the High Executor and the Executors. The High Executor has veto power, but does not have the authority to implement changes without a majority vote. The High Executor will be expected to maintain an average attendance of at least 75%.
- Executor: Executors are the guilds officers. Decisions regarding the guild will be determined by majority vote of the Executors as well as the High Executor. Executors will also hold other roles, such as loot officers and role leaders. Promotion to this rank will be based on knowledge and performance. Executors will be expected to maintain an average attendance of at least 75%.
- Veteran: Veterans are the primary members of the guild. Veterans will be expected to maintain an average attendance of at least 75%. Veterans are also required to be able to perform to a level determined by the Executors. Failure to meet either of these requirements will result in demotion to the rank of Pariah.
- Wanderer: Wanderers are members who would otherwise be Veterans but are not able to raid and who have a valid reason for their absence. Members may stay in this rank for two weeks before being demoted to the rank of Pariah. Upon returning from their absence, a member will be restored back to the rank of Veteran. Members of the Wanderer rank will have their attendance frozen until they return from their hiatus.
- Pariah: Pariahs are guild members who are in poor standing with the guild. If a member remains in the rank of Pariah for more than 4 weeks they will be removed from the guild. Pariahs are also limited to bidding up to 50% of their available DKP.
- Citizen: Citizens are members of the guild who do not participate in raiding, but may otherwise contribute to the guild. People eligible for this rank include crafters, friends and family of guild members, alternate characters of guild members. Players who do not fall into one of the above mention categories may considered for Citizenship on a case by case basis. Members of the Citizen rank may be invited to raid if we are short players for a given raid.
- Recruit: Recruits are players who are applying to become Veteran members. The recruitment period is two weeks during which recruits are expected to be actively playing and interacting with other guild members. At the end of the two week recruitment period players will be judged by the Executors and admitted to another rank or removed from the guild.
Guild Rules
- Any racist or sexist behavior among guild members will result in a temporary suspension in guild privileges. Repeated offenses will result in dismissal from the guild.
- Any behavior causing drama among guild members will result in a temporary suspension of guild privileges. Repeated offenses will result in dismissal from the guild.
- Pornographic or copyrighted material is strictly prohibited from being posted on the website.
- Any member caught applying to another guild, or being a member of another guild, will be removed from the guild.
About the Freethinkers Founder Austin Barnes
I have been playing MMORPG's for 10 years. I have been an officer and a high end raider in every guild I have played in since I started playing World of Warcraft at its release date in 2004. The list of MMORPG's I have played includes Ultima Online, Everquest 1, World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, Age of Conan, Everquest 2. My most recent experience is in Everquest 2 where I functioned as one of the raid leaders as well as the main tank for my guild Mortis Victum. As a guild we cleared all Shadow Odyssey content as well the majority of the released Sentinels Fate content before the guilds demise due to poor raid attendance.
