THE CODE OF THE FOUR - Effective as of 1/23/11 -
WHO WE ARE
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse is a Guild that is about helping each other - and helping others in need - throughout our adventures in Telara. We approach the challenges of the game together, as a brotherhood. We are made up of veterans and noobies, hardcore and casual players. No single Horseman in our Guild is the best (except Camaro.....not), and no single Horseman in our Guild is the worst(except Visorak.....well maybe). We all stand together as Horsemen United!
We are proud of our Guild, and therefore want to make the best possible impression on the game community. "Making It Look Good" is a core Horsemen value. In other words, we want other people to see our Guild and think, "Wow, those guys have it together!"
Our Guild is active in all aspects of the game. Questing, Raiding and even PVP.
HOW WE ROLL
The Horsemens Reputation - Keep it clean. We want the Guild to be viewed in a good light, so we do not tolerate members talking disrespectfully of others, using any kind of negativity, or engaging in behavior that adversely affects others gameplay. We do not fight with other people in the public or private chat channels, or make rude or disparaging comments in any public forum. If someone is talking ill of us, we take the high road and ignore it. And if we see a new player asking what may seem to others like a dumb question, we treat them like one of our own! We avoid any action that would cast the Horsemen in anything other than a positive light.
The Horsemens Image - Keep it sharp. While we do allow for a very wide range of individual styles and looks from our members, there are many times when we all want to look the part of Horsemen United! The Horsemen tabard is expected to be displayed at all times.
The Horsemens Stuff - Keep it free. Generosity is a core value of the Horsemen. If a Horsemen has an item of any quality (common, uncommon, rare, epic) and has no need of it, they will help out their fellow Horsemen by offering the object to others free of charge. We also never charge Horsemen for crafted items, although asking them to provide mats is appropriate.
The Horsemens Voice - Keep it heard. Due to the limitations of in-game chat, we use an outside system called Ventrilo. This allows us to communicate with large numbers of Horsemen at once, with a much higher voice quality. We've also established multiple channels that are easy to hop between for anything you might be doing in Telara. All Horsemen must at least be able to listen in on the Ventrilo channel - it is an absolute REQUIREMENT for raids and PvP. However, we strongly encourage you not to stop with listening, but actually join in the talk! You can get an everyday headset for 10-20$ at most stores. Instructions for downloading and setting up Ventrilo can be found here.
The Horsemen's Reflection- Keep it mature. Horsemen recruits must be 21 or older (younger members may be admitted on a case by case basis). While this may seem like a harsh policy, it's actually protective of younger players who may not be able to handle the stress generated by long raids, or who do not have the ability to participate in time-consuming events. Also, while we generally keep our chat channels clean, there are times where adults are being adults, and content may not be appropriate for younger players.
The Horsemen's Legacy-Keep the Horsemen alive. While not required to donate to be in FHotA we strongly encourage members to do so to help with the cost of maintaining the FHotA Rift website and ventrilo
