Crowd Control, commonly referred to as "CC," describes abilities that can be used by a character to slow, cripple, freeze, transport, impair, or otherwise inhibit the capabilities of a target; specifically where doing so results in a loss of freedom, control, or mobility of the target.

Сrowd сontrol includes 3 main abilities group: movement rate modifiers, action rate modifiers and forced action modifiers.
[edit] Movement rate modifiers
- Increase movement speed buffs
- Knockback
- Repels opponents away from CCer
- Root
- Immobilizes character while allowing all other actions to occur
- Snare
- Lowers movement rates while allowing all other actions to occur
- Stun
- Robust CC ability of stopping and deterrent
- Teleport; Moves the CCer a distance away, usually further than could be reached by regular movement in the same time frame

- Disarm
- Prevents all melee, thus temporarily lowering all melee rates to be infinitely long—possibly a hybrid of an effectiveness modifier
- Silence
- Prevents all casting, thus temporarily lowering all casting rates to be infinitely long—possibly a hybrid of an effectiveness modifier
- Slow
- Usually lowers melee attacks rates, but can also slow casting rates

- Fear
- Forcing opponents to run away from you
- Feign death
- In varying degrees, this either makes it less likely or impossible for an opponent to attack you
- Hate
- Forces opponents to attack you

The following abilities are listed at base rank levels. Some can be upgraded to longer durations by spending points in the appropriate soul tree.

[edit] Dominator
- Transmogrify
- Transforms the enemy into a harmless squirrel for up to 30 seconds.
- Disorient
- Confuse the target for up to 20 seconds.
- Mass Exhaustion
- Confuse all enemies in a targeted area for up to 30 seconds.

- Encase
- Root the target in place for up to 12 seconds.
[edit] Pyromancer
- Burning Bonds
- Root the target in place for up to 8 seconds.
[edit] Stormcaller
- Flash Freeze
- Freeze up to 11 enemies in place for up to 8 seconds.
- Absolute Zero
- Freeze the enemy in place for up to 8 seconds.
[edit] Warlock
- Fear
- Cause the enemy to run in fear for up to 10 seconds.
- Mass Fear
- Cause up to 5 enemies around the caster to run in fear for up to 10 seconds.

- Slumber
- Put the enemy to sleep for up to 10 seconds.
[edit] Inquisitor
- Trepidation
- Fear all nearby enemies for up to 8 seconds.
- Bewilder
- Confuse the enemy for up to 8 seconds.

[edit] Beastmaster
- Calming Influence
- Put the target to sleep for up to 10 seconds.
[edit] Champion
- Battlefield Intimidation
- Root the target for up to 6 seconds, as well as fearing all surrounding enemies for up to 6 seconds.

- Shadow of Dread
- Fear an enemy for up to 8 seconds.

[edit] Assassin
- Incapacitate
- Incapacitate the enemy for up to 45 seconds.
[edit] Bard
- Verse of Captivation
- Mezmerize the enemy for up to 8 seconds.
[edit] Blade Dancer
- Mass Subdue
- Causes all enemies within 7 meters to be incapacitated for up to 6 seconds.
[edit] Nightblade
- Lost Hope
- Incapacitate the enemy for up to 45 seconds.
